About the project
Reporting obligations towards the European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET) were spread across several institutions, and the existing environmental information system (EIS) carried technical debt. The project goal is a single managed environment in which reporting data is prepared, validated, reviewed, approved, analysed and packaged in line with EIONET/EEA requirements.
The system consists of the core EIS application (identities and roles, ROD navigation, data upload and validation, envelope workflow, analytics and administration), a web spatial database with a GIS geoportal, configurable dashboards and indicators with map visualisation, and EIONET exchange support: automatic ROD metadata synchronisation and EEA/CDR-compatible export packages. The Reportnet 3 API integration was activated in September 2026, when the system went into production.
Technologies: Angular 20, .NET 8, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Keycloak, GeoServer and MapStore, with a CMS/DMS for unstructured datasets and large reporting documents. The project also included role-based training: two practical workshops in July 2026, recordings, guides and evaluation materials. Final UAT and acceptance remain.
